Grammy queen Norah Jones, at the Greek Theatre in August, has also made the expected jump from intimate theaters tO larger venues. Those looking for newer Grammy players will have a chance to check out Coldplay, whose May Shoreline show marks the British band's leap from smaller American venues to the massive outdoor shed circuit. James Taylor, the Allman Brothers Band, Jackson Browne and the Doobie Brothers. Older jam and folk fans can look forward to concerts by Neil Young, Santana, Jam band followers have two major draws: a reunited Phish in July and the Dave Matthews Band in August, both playing two nights at Shoreline. Farrell and friends aside, genre-specific concerts will rule, from the skate-punk nirvana of the Vans Warped Tour to the metal/hard-rock debauch of Ozzfest, both in July.Ĭome August, Metallica will take its nu-metal offspring in hand on the Summer Sanitarium tour featuring Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, the Deftones and Mudvayne.
